Methane to Markets Ministerial Meeting

Agenda: Ministers from fourteen countries participated in the first Ministerial meeting marking the official launch of the Methane to Markets Partnership. These countries include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Colombia, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States. Representatives from the private sector and non-governmental organizations with expertise and interest in methane recovery and use projects participated in all three days of this meeting.

The first day of the meeting focused on technical issues related to methane capture and use opportunities in each of the targeted methane sources. The Ministerial Program began on the second day and included panel discussions on crosscutting issues, statements from each of the Ministers the signing of the Terms of Reference for the Partnership. The third and final day was devoted to working meetings of the Steering Committee and the three Subcommittees (Coal, Oil and Gas, and Landfills).
