    This session includes a review of the important role methane plays in climate change and the significant contribution made by the three methane sources being addressed in the Methane to Markets Partnership. In addition, a summary and key outcomes are presented from each of the previous day's presentations.

Ministerial Statements

Each of the 14 ministers attending the Methane to Markets Ministerial meeting made a formal declaration on behalf of each government, stressing the importance of greenhouse gas mitigation to the global environment and providing examples that demonstrate each country's commitment to greenhouse gas reductions. Each minister discussed how the Methane to Markets program would play an important role within the overall greenhouse gas mitigation program in each country, while also enhancing energy security and economic growth. Ministers then pledged their country's support to the Methane to Markets Partnership and outlined ways they hoped to be involved.
