Coal Mine Methane Global Overview
This is the second edition of the Coal Mine Methane Global Overview, updated in the summer of 2008. This document contains individual, comprehensive profiles that characterize the coal and coal mine methane sectors of 33 countries—22 Methane to Markets partners and an additional 11 coal-producing nations. The Executive Summary provides summary tables that include statistics on coal reserves, coal production, methane emissions, and CMM project activity.
An International Coal Mine Methane Projects Database 
accompanies this Overview. It contains more detailed and comprehensive information on over two hundred CMM recovery and utilization projects around the world. Project information in the database is updated regularly.
This document will be updated annually. Suggestions for updates and revisions can be submitted to the Administrative Support Group and will be incorporated into the document as appropriate.
