Coal Mine Methane Global Overview
This is the first edition of the final Coal Mine Methane Global Overview. This document contains individual, comprehensive profiles that characterize the coal and coal mine methane sectors of 32 countries—20 Methane to Markets partners and an additional 12 coal-producing nations. In addition, an Introduction section provides summary tables that include statistics on coal reserves, coal production, methane emissions, and CMM project activity.
An International Coal Mine Methane Projects Database accompanies this Overview. It contains more detailed and comprehensive information on over two hundred CMM recovery and utilization projects around the world. Project information in the database is more current than project information in this document. The Overview will be revised soon accordingly.
This document will be updated annually. Suggestions for updates and revisions can be submitted to the Administrative Support Group and will be incorporated into the document as appropriate.
